The Histotechnologist Senior provides quality histology services for the Department of Pathology to any and all customers within and outside the environment.

Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For HireCertified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology*

  • Required within 18 months of promotion into position

Licensure, Certification, Or Registration Requirements For Continued EmploymentCurrent HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)

  • Required within 18 months of promotion into position

Experience REQUIREDMinimum of 3 years of work experience as a Histotechnologist

Experience PREFERRED: N/A

Education/training REQUIREDHigh School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERREDBachelor's Degree in Biological Science

Independent Action(s) RequiredPerform routine histology techniques and problem solve as necessary with direction from supervisor as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if Applicable)Serve as supervisor of the histology laboratory in absence of supervisor.

Additional Position RequirementsOn-call rotation with other technical staff.
